Old Town Seed Harvest

**This event is canceled due to wet weather. Check back soon for a rescheduled date!**

Tuesday, October 1 (Rescheduled)
6:00-7:30pm
Old Town Seed Harvest
2317 Mesa Pl.
Missouri Valley, IA 51555

Golden Hills RC&D and Harrison County Conservation Board are hosting a free prairie seed harvest event near Missouri Valley on October 1.

Volunteers will visit remnant Loess Hills prairies at Old Town and learn how to identify which plants are available for seed collection. The hand-collected seed will then be used for local prairie restoration and reconstruction projects.

Event is free and registration is not required. All ages are welcome and no experience is required. Dress appropriately for the weather and rugged terrain. Bug spray and gloves are recommended. Event will be postponed if weather is not cooperative.

We will meet at the parking lot (located at
2317 Mesa Pl) at 6:00pm and hike to prairies overlooking the Boyer and Missouri valleys.

This is one in a series of seed harvest events this year. Stay tuned for future events at goldenhillsrcd.org/prairieseed and follow Golden Hills RC&D on Facebook.

Funding for this project is made possible by a grant from Gilchrist Foundation.
