Hitchcock Nature Center Prairie Seed Harvest
Friday, October 18
5:00-7:00pm

Golden Hills RC&D and Pottawattamie Conservation are hosting a free prairie seed harvest event.

Volunteers will visit prairie remnants along Badger Ridge and learn how to identify which plants are available for seed collection. The hand-collected seed will then be used for local prairie restoration and reconstruction projects.

Event is free and registration is not required. All ages are welcome and no experience is required. Dress appropriately for the weather and rugged terrain. Bug spray and gloves are recommended. Event will be postponed if weather is not cooperative.

We will meet at the Loess Hills Lodge at Hitchcock at 5:00pm and hike out Badger Ridge Trail.

Stay tuned for future seed harvest events at goldenhillsrcd.org/prairieseed and follow Golden Hills RC&D on Facebook.
