Join us as we learn about the birds seen by Lewis and Clark on their trip up and down the Missouri . We will observe birds coming to feeders at the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center , begin a basic bird list and compare species seen in 1804 to species now. Learn how to identify birds using track replicas, stamps, binoculars and sounds. Participants will “create a bird” using craft materials and use camouflage to place their “birds” in a natural setting.

Ever wonder what daily life was like in Lewis & Clark’s time? For instance, what toys they may have played with as children? Come and meet Meriwether Lewis’s Mother, “Lucy Meriwether Lewis Marks”, in costume and have hands on access to many of the materials Lewis & Clark would have used 200 years ago.
You’ll also have an opportunity to make and take home a Lewis & Clark craft. |
